What help is available

There are support payments and pensions available. Find out what support is available when you can’t work on the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) website.

DVA can also help with jobs as you move into the civilian workforce.

Payments to help with the cost of raising a family

Child Care Subsidy
This is a Services Australia payment that helps with the cost of approved child care.
Additional Child Care Subsidy for transitioning to work, studying or training
This gives people transitioning to work, study or training extra help with the cost of child care.
Low Income Health Care Card
A concession card to get cheaper health care and some discounts if you’re on a low income.
Family Tax Benefit
This is a 2 part payment that helps with the cost of raising children.
