Students and apprentices
Help from Centrelink
If you’re studying or doing an apprenticeship, you may get a:
- Centrelink payment and use the Income Bank to keep more of your payment when you work
- Low Income Health Care Card to get cheaper health care and other benefits.

If you’re studying at university or another higher education provider, you may get further support if you’re:
- an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- a migrant, visitor or refugee
- from a rural, regional or remote area
- living with disability, illness or injury
- a LGBTIQ+ student
- a parent.
