How to get proof of vaccinations

To get proof of vaccinations for yourself, or your children under the age of 14, you can use:

• your Medicare online account through myGov
• the myGov app
• the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
• My Health Record online through myGov.

If your child is aged 14 or older, they can view their own immunisation history statements through myGov. They’ll need to create their own myGov account.

If your child can’t access myGov, they can get their immunisation history statement by:

• asking their vaccination provider to print it
• calling the Australian Immunisation Register on the Services Australia website.

Use your Medicare online account through myGov to get proof

You’ll need to have Medicare linked to your myGov account. Find out how to link Medicare to your account.

Follow these steps to get proof of your vaccinations using your Medicare online account:

1. Sign in to myGov. This link will take you directly to Medicare’s proof of vaccination page.
2. Select the proof you need.
3. Follow the prompts and download a copy of the PDF to your device.

You may have an option to add the proof to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet if you’re using a mobile phone or tablet.

Use the myGov app to get proof through Medicare

Follow these steps to get proof of your vaccinations using the myGov app:

1. Sign in to your myGov app.
2. Select Services, then Medicare.
3. Select View Proof.
4. Select the proof you need.

You may have an option to add the proof to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. 

You can also add your International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate to your myGov wallet when you select Wallet in the myGov app.

Use the Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHI) service to get proof

If you’re not eligible for Medicare, you can use your IHI to get proof of your vaccinations. You’ll need to have IHI linked to your myGov account. Find out how to link the IHI service to your account.

Follow these steps to get proof of your vaccinations:

1. Sign in to myGov.
2. Select IHI service from your services.
3. Select Proof of vaccinations, then View proof.
4. Select your name, then View history.
5. Select the document you need.
6. Follow any extra prompts and save a copy of the PDF to your device.

You may have an option to add the proof to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet if you’re using a mobile phone or tablet.

Get printed proof of vaccinations

If you can’t get proof of your vaccinations online, you can:

• call the Australian Immunisation Register number on the Services Australia website to get a copy posted to you
• ask your vaccination provider to print a copy.
